2021 PIAA District II/IV Class 4A Subregional
#4 Williamsport out of District 4, will take on the top seeded #1 Delaware Valley. In the first round, Williamsport scored two first half goals to beat Hazleton 2-1. The Lady Warriors were granted a first round bye. Del Val goalkeeper Brianna Matteson leads the league with 11 clean sheets this season.
Prediction: Delaware Valley 3, Williamsport 0
#3 Wilkes-Barre Area will take on division rivals #2 Wyoming Valley West for a third time this season. In their first match against each other, the Lady Spartans overcame a 4-2 deficit with 20 minutes remaining and won 5-4. WVW won again at their home field by a score of 1-0. The Lady Wolfpack is coming off a 9-0 first round win against Scranton, while Valley West had a first round bye.
Prediction: Wyoming Valley West 2, Wilkes-Barre Area 1
2021 PIAA District 2 Class 3A
#4 Crestwood will travel into Lackawanna County and take on the top seeded #1 Abington Heights. The Lady Comets beat Honesdale 3-1 in their opening match, while Crestwood shut out Wallenpaupack by a score of 4-0. Bryn Stiles (AH) has 16 goals this season, which is second best in Division 1. Mia Pollack (CRE) has 207 saves in goalie this year, which is second in the WVC.
Prediction: Crestwood 3, Abington Heights 1
#3 Berwick takes on division rival #2 Dallas. These two teams met up last season in the championship, in which the Lady Bulldogs won in OT. The Lady Bulldogs shut out Valley View 7-0 in their first round match, while the Lady Mounts shut out Scranton Prep 5-0. In two games this year, Dallas won 1-0 the first time around, and tied each other 1-1 after double overtime just a couple weeks ago. Prediction: Dallas 2, Berwick 1
2021 PIAA District 2 Class 2A
#5 Greater Nanticoke Area will take on the reigning champions in #1 Lake-Lehman. Alexis Atkins scored the game winner for the Trojanettes in their 1-0 win over Western Wayne, while the Lady Knights won 9-0 against Mid Valley. In two matchups this season, Lehman won 6-1 and 2-0. Prediction: Lake-Lehman 4, Greater Nanticoke Area 1
#2 Wyoming Area will take on #3 Holy Redeemer. The Lady Royals are coming off a 1-0 first round win against Wyoming Seminary, while the Lady Warriors won 9-0 against Hanover Area. In two games against each other this season, Redeemer won 4-3, and Wyoming Area won 2-0 in their final matchup. Prediction: Wyoming Area 3, Holy Redeemer 2
2021 PIAA District Class 1A
#4 Mountain View will play the top seeded #1 Lakeland. The Lady Chiefs were granted a first round bye, while the Lady Eagles won big against Holy Cross (7-0). In two games played against each other this season, Lakeland won both by a score of 5-1 and 4-1. Nadia Gill (LAK) leads the league with 43 goals scored, and is 7th in the league with 11 assists.
Prediction: Lakeland 5, Mountain View 0
#3 Dunmore takes on division rival #2 Montrose. The Lady Bucks put up 17 goals and kept a shutout against Forest City in their playoff opener. The Lady Meteors did the same basically, scoring 12 and keeping a shutout against Elk Lake. Montrose won both matches against Dunmore this season… two 1-0 victories.
Prediction: Montrose 2, Dunmore 1
