Ouimet takes home NEPA HS Soccer’s “WVC Girl’s Goalkeeper of the Year”

Keepers, keepers, keepers… a position that is very under-appreciated in the game of soccer. But ask any goalkeeper in the game, and they will tell you how hard it is to play that position. There are many talented goalies in the Wyoming Valley Conference, but if there is one that stands out, it’s Emily Ouimet of Berwick.

During the 2020 campaign, Ouimet kept a league leading 10 clean sheets, and made 115 saves. And how can we forget, she also scored a goal and tallied four assists. If you’re on the opposing team, it is nearly impossible to get one by her. It is also safe to say that Emily was one of the most important pieces on the Lady Bulldog squad, as she helped lead them to a district title.

Respectively, Caitlyn Katchur of Hazleton Area finished second in our polls, followed by Marie Lombardi of Holy Redeemer.
